Location:
Ranjakapitta is located in the liver, spleen and lower abdomen, it involves all digestive juices in the digestive system coming from the liver and spleen function. At cellular level it involves all metabolic reactions in the body.

Functions The only function of this pitta is to give a red colour to the rasa (absorbed nutrients from digested food) to form rakta (blood). The ranjakapitta has an essential part to play in the formation of the raktadhatu from the ras.
